It controls how emails forwarded to Planfix are processed in the system. This setting is disabled by default, so if an email is forwarded to Planfix from an external email address, the sender's email address will not be mentioned in the task.

Similarly, if Planfix is blind copied in an email, the recipient's email address will not be mentioned in the task. This situation can't be distinguished from when an email is forwarded through the recipient's email address.

Activate this setting if you need the task participants to reflect all the email addresses in an email, including the address the email was forwarded through and/or any addresses that were blind copied.

An example of how it works when enabled and disabled

Example

  • Let's say there's an email:
    • From: johnson@gmail.com
    • To: sales@company.com
  • The email is automatically redirected to the internal Planfix email address sales@company.planfix.com, and a task is created as a result.

When this setting is disabled

  • Task assigner: the contact or employee with the email address johnson@gmail.com
  • Task assignee: the employee with the email address sales@company.planfix.com (if no other assignee is set)
  • The contact or employee with the email address sales@company.com doesn't appear in the task, because they're not needed

When the setting is enabled

  • Task assigner: the contact or employee with the email address johnson@gmail.com
  • Task assignee: the employee with the email address sales@company.planfix.com (if no other assignee is set)
  • The contact or employee with the email address sales@company.com will also be present in the task as a participant

When this setting can be useful

  • If you send an email to a client and BCC an internal Planfix email address, using this setting will allow you to see in Planfix the email address of the client to whom the email was sent
